Ramadan 2010

Tue Aug 10, 2010 1:52 am by PaLo $oLdieR

The crescent moon has been sighted in West Java, Jakarta, Indonesia therefore the start date of Ramadan will be on Wednesday the 11th of August, inshaa-Allaah. Taraweeh prayers will commence Wednesday night at your local masjids.

"O you who believe! Observing As-Saum (the fasting) is prescribed for you as it was prescribed for those before you, that you may become Al-Muttaqoon (the pious)."Al-Qur'an 2:183

The Prophet (peace and blessings of Allaah be upon him) said:

“Whoever fasts Ramadaan out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” Bukhari & Muslim

“Whoever spends the nights of Ramadaan in prayer out of faith and in the hope of reward, his previous sins will be forgiven.” Bukhari & Muslim

"Whoever does not give up false statements (i.e. telling lies), and evil deeds, and speaking bad words to others, Allah (the Most High) is not in need of his (fasting) leaving his food and drink." Bukhari

We wish all the Muslims the best of Ramadan and hope that we all can use this opportunity to increase our imaan and improve our relationship with Allaah, The Most High.
